Michael Bronner is an award-winning writer, producer, director and longtime journalist. After many years as a staff producer at CBS News/60 Minutes and long-form magazine writer for Vanity Fair, Foreign Policy and others, Bronner transitioned to feature film in 2005, collaborating with director Paul Greengrass on Oscar-nominated and BAFTA-winning United 93; Oscarnominated >Captain Phillips (Tom Hanks, Barkhad Abdi); and Green Zone (Matt Damon).

He wrote and produced the feature film Chasing Agent Freegard (James Norton, Gemma Arterton; in pre-production for 4/21 shoot). He wrote and is producing an epic film about the apartheid-era relationship between South African musician Hugh Masekela and gangster monk Trevor Huddleston, whose relationship was tested over the Graceland controversy around the Cultural Boycott of South Africa. While at 60 Minutes, Bronner co-produced the Peabody Award-winning documentary Death by Denial about the HIV/AIDS crisis in Southern Africa, with Ed Bradley as correspondent. His work has also been recognized with the Edward R. Her major project, Chronicles of Great Women, sheds light on the accomplishments of these women. Alexander also contributes to the film community as a board member of the Madison film festival. Her work aims to educate and inspire future generations about their cultural heritage. Amal’s mission is to change the narratives of stereotyping muslims and the Islamic culture in Hollywood by creating movies with a positive message about the culture and highlighting the achievement of these great women.

Mohammedou Salahi.

Mohamedou Ould Slahi, an acclaimed and globally recognized author and peace advocate from Mauritania. He is a writer in residence with NITE and De Balie in the Netherlands. His life journey took him from a humble background in Mauritania to studying engineering in Germany, and then to a 15-year detention in Guantánamo Bay. He captured his ordeal in his bestselling book Guantánamo Diary, which was later adapted into the film “The Mauritanian ”, Starring Tahar Rahim, Jodie Foster and Benedict Cumberbatch, the movie was nominated for an Oscar . Following his release, Slahi continued his literary work, publishing a novel and co-writing a theater production. He has been acknowledged for his peace endeavors with awards from the Netherlands and Switzerland. The Actual True Story of Ahmed and Zarga, was published in 2021. His work in theater includes co-writing Yara’s Wedding based on Edward Said’s Orientalism, which premiered in February 2023, and he was awarded the Netherlands PAX Peace Prize (Verededuif) in 2022 and The Marco Borradori Prize Lugao / Switzerland in September 2023.
