From courageous leaders such as Queen Arwa, Queen Amina as well as Queen Aicha who redefined sovereignty and resilience, to pioneering educators like Fatima Al Fihri, who established the first degree-granting institution. The legacies of these extraordinary women continue to inspire us today. Their stories are not just histories of the past but guiding beacons for future generations striving for empowerment and equality.

Biography

Amal Alexander

Amal Alexander is an entrepreneur, film producer, storyteller, and creative executive dedicated to developing powerful, globally resonant stories that entertain, inspire, and create meaningful social impact. As the Founder and CEO of Amallina Productions, Amal is committed to championing diverse voices, underrepresented communities, and stories that bridge cultures while reaching international audiences.

Under Amal’s leadership, Amallina Productions has developed a growing slate of feature films, documentaries, and animated projects spanning Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America. Her work reflects a passion for stories that explore courage, resilience, justice, identity, and the human spirit.

Among the company’s upcoming productions is the action thriller TRIGGER, set in Ghana, West Africa. Co-produced by Amallina Productions, the film is currently in post-production and scheduled for release in September.

Amal is also producing the documentary Ali Versus Parkinson’s, an intimate and inspiring exploration of Muhammad Ali’s battle with Parkinson’s disease. The film follows Ali’s journey after becoming one of the most celebrated and influential athletes in history, examining how he transformed personal adversity into a legacy of faith, perseverance, and global impact. The documentary is directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Kevin Macdonald.

Another major project in development is Amanat, an international Hollywood-Bollywood feature film starring Alia Bhatt and directed by Academy Award winner Skye Fitzgerald. The project seeks to unite audiences across cultures through a compelling and emotionally powerful story.

Amal is also developing The Warrior Princess, an epic animated adventure inspired by the legendary African warrior queens of history. Similar in spirit to Disney classics such as Mulan and Brave, the film follows a courageous young princess who defies tradition to embrace her destiny as a warrior and leader. The project is being developed with a team that includes talent from Pixar and DreamWorks Animation.

In addition to these productions, Amal has several international feature films in various stages of development and pre-production, further expanding Amallina Productions’ global footprint.

Beyond filmmaking, Amal serves as a Board Member of the Madison Film Festival in Wisconsin, USA, and as a Board Advisor to EX-Animo, a film production company focused on impactful storytelling. She also collaborates with international organizations and business leaders working across Africa to support initiatives that promote economic development, innovation, education, and sustainable growth.

Through her leadership, creativity, and commitment to meaningful storytelling, Amal Alexander continues to build a diverse portfolio of projects that celebrate culture, inspire audiences, and contribute to a more connected and compassionate world
