In the early 16th century, North Africa witnessed the remarkable ascent of a queen named Aicha. Forced to flee her ancestral home in Granada, a jewel of Spain, Aicha’s life took a dramatic turn due to a power that demanded conformity over her family’s faith. As a child, Aicha bore witness to her parents’ agonizing choice: abandon their stately home and beloved city or forsake their beliefs or face execution.
Aicha blossomed from a young and exiled girl into a radiant princess, and her story took a fateful turn when she married the ruler of Tetouan, ultimately ascending to the throne as the city’s queen.However, Aicha’s idyllic rule faced a formidable challenge when her old adversaries reemerged, casting a shadow of uncertainty over her beloved city. These foes trespassed on her lands and encroached upon her waters, jeopardizing the peace and prosperity she had fought so hard to establish. Faced with an imminent threat, Aicha was left with no choice but to defend her city, her people, and her legacy at any cost.
